A short drive from downtown Helena, the Scratchies are home to numerous multi-use trails with true Big Sky views. Join us for a hike along the Scratch Gravel Hills' "upper loop," which includes travel through Iowa Gulch and to the top of South Peak. We'll enjoy lunch atop a peak as we take in views of the Mighty Mo, Sleeping Giant, and Continental Divide.

Join us for a fun and engaging outing great for the whole family. We will start at the Montana WILD Education Center, where we will cover some basics of bird identification and habitat. We will then follow a flat, half-mile transect around the lake and collect data on the birds that we observe. We will wrap up our adventure by entering our data into the citizen science website, eBird, and will contribute to a data set used by birders and scientists across the globe. Binoculars and field guides will be provided, but you are welcome to use your own.

Despite its proximity to Helena, Colorado Mountain has that "way out there" feeling we're all craving come summertime. Our route to the summit will travel old roads and trail - it's steep to start but will reward you with panoramic views of the Big Belts, Elkhorns, Boulders, and Adels.

Join us for a trek into the heart of the rugged Big Belt Mountains. We'll journey up Trout Creek Canyon, lined with 1,000-foot limestone canyon walls that expose a fascinating peek into geologic time.
