Celebrate Earth Day by giving back with Wild Montana. Our Wild Divide chapter will clean up trash and debris at the Upper Prickly Pear Fishing Access Site. Our efforts will ensure this trash doesn't end up in Prickly Pear Creek or the Mighty Mo.

The Continental Divide Trail is a special place that hugs the crest of the Rocky Mountains. In this snowshoe trek, we will feel like we are on top of the world as we catch glimpses of several mountain ranges from the Adels, the Big Belts, the Swans and maybe even the Missions. On a clear day, we will be able to see the Scapegoat Wilderness’s high point: Red Mountain.

Nordic skiing atop Stemple Pass is an experience as quintessentially Montana as huckleberry pie. Join us for this ungroomed ski across the windswept Continental Divide outside the Nevada Mountain recommended Wilderness. We’ll travel through old-growth forest and, if conditions are right, get views of the Scapegoat Wilderness and the Mission Mountains.

Join the Continental Divide Trail Coalition for a wintery snowshoe from Rogers Pass heading south on the Continental Divide Trail (CDT) towards Flesher Pass. We’ll climb through a mixed conifer forest until we meet the ridge, and then we’ll follow the ridge above treeline and enjoy great views. After a couple of miles, we’ll take a break before returning to Rogers Pass.

Join us for a snowshoe high atop the scenic Continental Divide beginning at Flesher Pass. This area is prime wildlife habitat and we'll take time to investigate tracks we discover along the way. As we break to take in views across the Blackfoot Valley, Wild Montana's federal legislative director and local field organizer will discuss how the Lincoln Prosperity Proposal will help keep the divide wild for generations to come.

Join us for a fun snowshoe into the heart of the rugged Big Belt Mountains. We’ll journey up Trout Creek Canyon, taking plenty of time to gawk at the 1,000-foot limestone spires and canyon walls.

The Scratchgravel Hills are a cherished asset in Helena's rich public lands portfolio. A short drive from downtown Helena, the Scratchies are home to an abundance of multi-use trails with true Big Sky views. We'll take a 3 to 4-mile stroll that connects two-track, gravel road, and single-track trails and showcases the wild Continental Divide west of town.

Luck for you, our friends at Montana Learning Center are lending their astrological expertise and high-powered telescopes to host another star party. We'll take turns zooming into the cosmos while watching for shooting stars and connecting the dots on constellations. Join us for a memorable evening of celestial inquiry!

The Continental Divide Trail Coalition will lead this hike from just west of the Continental Divide to picturesque Heart Lake. We’ll see the foliage turning colors and view the vast expanse of the Scapegoat Wilderness on the gradual climb to the lake. We’ll eat lunch at Heart Lake, and there may be the option to hike around the lake to complete a 10-mile loop or turn back for a 7-mile out-and-back.

Join us for an out-and-back hike on a section of the Continental Divide Trail to see why it has been dubbed “the king of trails.” This moderately paced journey from Rogers Pass north toward Cadotte Pass will feature sweeping ridgetop views of the Blackfoot Valley, Scapegoat Wilderness, and much of the country that stands to be protected by the Lincoln Prosperity Proposal. With fall in the air, we’ll see some changing colors on the forest floor, rocky outcroppings on the high spots, and grassy vistas between.

Join us to learn about Montana's gold mining history and explore Nevada Creek. We'll pass abandoned cabins, skirt mine shafts, and follow game trails as we venture into the boundary of the proposed Nevada Mountain Wilderness. This Wilderness is part of the Lincoln Prosperity Proposal. If the proposal becomes law, Nevada Mountain would become the first new standalone wilderness area in Montana in 40 years.

The tragic Mann Gulch Fire of 1949 left a lasting impact on the way wildfire is fought and managed on public lands across the country. Join this trek to the memorial markers of the firefighters who lost their lives to pay respects and get a history lesson on what transpired. This hike is the best way to see the area without the use of a boat.
