These initiatives will open Montana’s primary elections and require candidates to win a majority of votes in November.
Open primaries and majority-winner elections are proven solutions to our broken politics. Both reforms reduce the power of political parties and special interests and require candidates to appeal to a broad base of voters, making groups like ours better able to hold elected officials accountable to their constituents.
Together, CI-126 and CI-127 are a critical step toward creating a more effective and accountable government for all Montanans.
