Winning photos appear in our 2016 Picture Wild Montana calendar, available now
Category: Community | | 1 min read

Montana Wilderness Association has determined the 26 winning photos of its Picture Wild Montana photo contest. All of the winning photos now appear in the 2016 Picture Wild Montana calendar.

The grand winner of this year’s contest is Aaron Theisen, of Spokane, Washington. His “Star Peak Sunset,” a spectacular shot of the sun setting behind the Cabinet Mountains, appears on the cover of the calendar.

Amateur photographers from across the country submitted more than 1,000 photos, and MWA voted on one grand prize, 12 overall winners, 12 honorable mentions, and one popular vote winner. Click to see all the winning photos.

The winner of the popular vote, with her shot of a mountain goat in Glacier National Park, was Linda Fiordilsio, of Helena.

We were really pleased with quality of photos we got this year, and we’re extremely grateful to everyone who submitted a photo. The number of great images we received made it really tough to decide the winners.

The 2016 Picture Wild Montana Calendar, highlighting Montana's diversity of flora and fauna in all seasons, is available now on MWA’s online store. You can also call me at (406) 443-7350 ext. 108 or email me at ahagerty@wildmontana.org to order your copy.
