In 1958, husband and wife Ken and Florence Baldwin wrote a letter to 100 friends across Montana inviting them to Bozeman to discuss the support they could give to a Congressional bill creating a national system of wilderness areas.

Debo Powers in the Whitefish Range recommended wilderness area

Last year, Montana Wilderness Association elected Debo Powers of Polebridge and Steve Holland of Bozeman to its State Council, the governing body of our organization that’s composed of volunteers from around the state and represenatives of local chapters.
