Lewis and Clark Pass (Hike Full)

Location: Lincoln
Miles/Difficulty: 4 miles/Moderate
Leaders: Wilbur Rehmann and Larry Epstein

We will follow the trail of Meriwether Lewis over the Salish “route to the buffalo” up Alice Creek. We might well spot elk, deer, sand hill cranes, and numerous raptors.

On this Father's Day weekend, we'll travel north from Rogers Pass to a point overlooking Cadotte Pass on the Continental Divide Trail to enjoy spectacular views of the Scapegoat Wilderness and Silver King Mountain.

We'll take the official Forest Service trail through the Elkhorn Mountains on this scenic hike near Helena.

The hike on the Continental Divide Trail to Nevada Mountain traverses open meadows with seas of wildflowers, rocky summits with sweeping views of massive drainages, rolling ridge lines, and old forests with windblown trees.

This is a family-friendly hike through a stream-cooled limestone canyon and an old-growth forest environment into the Gates of the Mountains Wilderness Area.
