Seeking Volunteer Photographers!
Montana Wilderness Association is seeking enthusiastic photographers to help us capture the Volunteer Trail Crew experience. Join a project as a volunteer photographer and spend your day documenting the good times, scenic views, and accomplishments on the trail.
This is a great opportunity to expand your portfolio, see awe-inspiring and remote places in Montana, and share your love of the outdoors. There is also the potential for your work to be featured online and in our promotional materials.
Photos are one of the best ways to capture and share what happens on the trail – we need photos for our website, social media, and to document the work we do for our partners. Your pictures will be an invaluable resource for years to come as MWA shares the stories of our volunteers and our landscapes.
Would I make a good volunteer photographer?
MWA is looking for photographers with an established portfolio of high quality, engaging images. Here's what is expected of a volunteer photographer:
- Ability to take quality professional-level photos and submit them by assigned due dates
- Access to your own professional camera and equipment
- A portfolio of previous work
- Willing and able to camp and hike alongside the trail crew during the project
- Release photos to MWA, with photo credit, for use in storytelling efforts and volunteer recruitment materials
Do I have to come out for an entire project?
Nope! Volunteer photographers are welcome to join a project for one day or the whole week. You will simply need to coordinate exact dates ahead of time so the trip crew leader can plan accordingly.
How do I sign up?
Contact stewardship coordinator Sonny Mazzullo at firstname.lastname@example.org or 406-334-7378 for more info on projects. You can share your portfolio with Sonny, discuss logistics, and determine which project works best for your summer schedule.
