2013 Wilderness Walks

HELENA, Mont. — Join the Montana Wilderness Association on the trail and help us celebrate another fun and exciting year of Wilderness Walks. This summer MWA is proud to offer nearly 150 free, guided day hikes, backpacking adventures, field trips, and trail maintenance projects across some of the state's most magnificent backcountry.

Drink some beer for CDT Montana.

Most people would place beer and healthy living on opposite ends of the fitness spectrum any given day. However, this spring, for one week only, the stars are aligned and you can have both at the same time.

What? How is this possible you may ask?

What words and images come to mind when you hear someone say, Continental Divide Trail? Scenic beauty and solitude? How about pristine alpine lakes, cascading waterfalls and sweeping vistas? Or, high elevation, snowcapped peaks and grizzly bears?

I wouldn’t call myself an outdoors person. I mean, don’t get me wrong, I love hiking and climbing mountains but I won’t lie – I love the comforts of society. I love my little bed, my little tv and my not so little collection of movies. But now and again I get the urge to strap my boots on and get outside.
