COLLABORATION: The Trail Unites Us

Since 1978, the Continental Divide National Scenic Trail was designated to provide for high quality, scenic, primitive hiking, horseback riding, and non-motorized recreational experiences, and to conserve natural, historical and cultural resources along the divide. With 3100 miles snaking from Canada to Mexico, the CDNST is only 78% complete. And did you know that the largest unfinished section is the Montana/Idaho section at only 58% complete.

With dedicated volunteers and agency partners, the Montana Wilderness Association is working to complete the CDNST and we need YOUR help to get the job done. Please check out the volunteer opportunities we have each summer or make a contribution to support our volunteers in the field. Together we can complete the CDT!

GET INVOLVED:  2014 Projects A Great Success! Stay tuned for 2015...

What a fantastic year on the CDT in 2014. We had record-breaking volunteer numbers; the most amount of youth on the trail compared to year's past; a new Trail Steward program; ARTside on the Divide (Artist in Residence Program) and lots of great work accomplished.

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU to all the volunteers that joined us this summer. Next summer's projects will be posted in March 2015, so check back early and often to be first in line for our next service outing. In the meantime, check out the impressive accomplishments from our 2014 field season!
