MWA announces 2013 photo contest winners
And the winners are...
HELENA, Mont. — The Montana Wilderness Association is pleased to announce the winners of the fifth annual Picture Wild Montana photo contest.
The contest drew nearly 1,000 photos from photographers of all ages and skills. MWA gleaned the very best photos submitted in seven different categories: Montana’s Wild Rocky Mountain Front, Wild Northwestern Montana, Wilderness Families and Kids, Wild Eastern Montana, Montana Wildlife, Montana Wildflowers, and Montana's Wilderness History/Heritage, and awarded more than $1,000 in prizes.
The contest has a panel of judges plus an online popular vote, which saw a huge rise in participation this year, jumping from 2,100 votes cast in 2012 to 10,600 votes in 2013. Some 3,000 of those votes went to Choteau participant Emily Stott, whose photo “Freedom” won the overall popular vote.
Thank you again to all photo contest participants, judges, and sponsors—your support and generosity make this contest possible.
MWA congratulates the winners:
